PERANAKAN WEDDING HAIR CARE RITUAL
A Traditional Pre-Treatment Practice to Ground the Senses
Inspired by the elaborate and colourful 12-day Peranakan Wedding Ceremony, every guest enjoys a pre-treatment experience that includes a soothing hair care ritual of washing, combing and scalp massage. Before any treatment begins, there is a sacred pause. This ritual grounds the senses and prepares both body and mind for the experience ahead.
The ritual unfolds in three stages. First, a dry detangling with a wooden comb releases tension from ends to root. Warm water flows as oil is massaged into the scalp with slow circles, softening stored stress. A nourishing cleanser follows, rinsing away impurities and mental clutter.
The ritual concludes with a wet comb-through, gliding from ends to roots in a hypnotic rhythm. You leave with hair cleansed and soothed, but more importantly, feeling grounded, present and deeply cared for—perfectly prepared for what lies ahead.
